I have an excellent experience at Channing Dental. They were incredibly thorough with every aspect of the process; from the quality of the cleaning + exam itself to the detail with which they explained the insurance breakdown at the front desk, they were helpful and kind every step of the way. I have Asbergers/autism and struggle really hard with the dentist. I have struggled to take care of my teeth and to keep up with proper cleanings/exams as a result. They were understanding and non-judgemental when I explained why I had not been to the dentist in a few years. The ultimate praise was that I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep during my cleaning! That has NEVER happened to me; this is the same person that, as a child, had to be pharmaceutically sedated to get a simple annual cleaning. I have been going to Channing Dental for over 15 years.  This is the best practice and dental group that I have ever been to. This is an excellent dental care provider. The staff is warm, very professional, and helpful. Dr. Nguyen explained the care recommendations, was clear about the most urgent concerns, and performed the procedures quickly without complications. My recovery was very smooth and I am happy with the results. The office is easy to find, clean, and inviting. There is even (limited) patient parking. Getting an appointment was remarkably easy compared with other health-related services I've experienced in the Bay Area. The facility uses many advanced imaging and production tools (including same-day turn around for crowns, for example). I DO caution potential patients to confirm their insurance network details before committing to an appointment. Contact Channing Dental directly and verify coverage! Do not trust third party apps, like ZocDoc - which at the time of my service (June 2026), had incorrect information. I did not discover I was out-of-network until it was too late. I blame myself for taking the app at face value - and it WAS a costly assumption. That said, the office staff was very helpful in navigating my specific issues and went above expectations to ensure I was treated fairly and left satisfied. Dr. Mia Nguyen, DDS is great! Channing Dental staff is great as well. I was checked in and in the room in less than 10 minutes. They work efficiently and they helped me in a desperate time of need. A friend of mine recommended this practice to me, and I’m so glad I went! Polite staff, clear communication, and kind doctors. I don't usually leave reviews for dental offices, but I felt really grateful for one of the staff members and wanted to share my experience. This was my first visit, and the woman at the front desk on the far right (I believe she was older than the other 2) was incredibly kind and helpful. I unfortunately didn't catch her name, but when I had trouble completing one of the online forms, she patiently helped me fill it out manually on her computer. She was especially warm and empathetic when I explained that I wasn't comfortable providing my SSN. She helped me work through the process without making me feel pressured or dismissed, and I really appreciated her understanding. I really appreciate the care and soft touch of the hygienists there. I also like the modern technology used as it makes the dental experience smoother, more efficient, and relatively painless. I have been a long time patient of Dr Hites, who is fantastic. But this time I met one of the newer dentists there, Dr. Wong. He was quite nice and attentive.

I had such a horrible experience calling insurance about how much they did not cover. They did not even help in the end. When I called I spoke to Maritza who was such a kind, compassionate person who carefully explained to me what the insurance company failed horribly to do. Dr. Nguyen was so nice and explained everything to me. My prior dentist didn't catch a brewing abscess on xray. He took x-rays and said he saw "nothing". The pain continued for months but since he saw nothing I thought it was something else. I even went to an EENT because I was sure there was no Tooth problem. The pain subsided for a couple of months and then started up again. Decided to try Dr. Nguyen and she explained that the nerve is almost dead. Will need to do root canal or implant. First time here and it was great! I hate the dentist, but everyone here was very welcoming and I had a great time. The dental hygienist, Kianna/Keanna(?), did a really great job explaining the whole process to me and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Wong was super chill and was very helpful during my exam. My appointment was incredibly easy to make. I received a phone call the day before my appointment to let me know that there was an opening that evening. I had tooth , I needed to be pulled , and they did it. They were so tentative to my knees and concerns. They even have in-house financing.
